A program Science for Monks and Nuns even trains Tibetian monks and nuns in various areas of science to become future teachers and scientists themselves. The Dalai Lama himself spoke at several meetings and conferences for health and neuroscience. Buddhist monks, practicing meditation over the course of their lives, and some of them trained in the sciences themselves, worked closely with other neuroscientists to gain insights on the brain. Buddhists believe that the human life is one of suffering, and that meditation, spiritual and physical labor, and good behavior are the ways to achieve enlightenment, or nirvana. Buddhism is one of the world’s largest religions and originated 2,500 years ago in India. Eventually, they evolved into collaborations, especially in the area of neuroscience. a system of spiritual or supernatural belief. Research now shows that when you are compassionate, you experience a similar feeling of pleasure as when you have sex, good food or a relaxing holiday. ![]() These meetings continued over the course of several decades. The topic of compassion is not at all religious business it is important to know it is human business, it is a question of human survival.
